Sometimes a story just can not be told in a feature film format! Thus the advent of the mini-series was created. Mini-series are those epic events that take you on an adventure for 2 to 3 night in a row! These adventure would get you get right to a fever pitch and the credits roll and you have to wait to watch for than part! Cliffhanger!


I fondly remember watching mini-series events as a kid growing up and being enthralled! The next day seemed to move in slow motion as I waited for the next installment. But when the time finally came for the next part I was there ready to enjoy. Well, the fine folks at Mill Creek Entertainment have release an Epic Fantasy Collection gift set. This is a huge collection of miniseries. Lets take an in depth look at the epic collection.

Gulliver’s Travels (1996)
– An 18th century Englishman named Gulliver (Ted Danson) returns after a long time abroad and tells his strange stories about the lands he visited filled with sorcery, talking animals, and even a society of tiny people the size of a man's hand. This miniseries won 5 Primetime Emmy awards. (3 hours 6 Minutes) ****


Odyssey (1997)
– Join The Trojan hero, Odysseus (Armand Assante) as he endures years of hardship trying to return home to Greece after his victory in the Trojan War. This mini-series event was based on the classic tale by Homer. (2 hours 56 Minutes) ****


Merlin (1998)
– The legendary wizard Merlin (Sam Neill) helps the evil Queen Mab of the Sidhe continue her reign of terror. That is until Merlin's heart is captured by the lovely Nimue. Merlin turns away from the Evil queen and embarks on a war with his allies to bring peace to the land. (3 Hours 2 Minutes) ***


10th Kingdom (2000)
– There is more beyond the mortal realm. There is 9 Kingdoms! A father (John Larroquette) and his daughter find themselves in a parallel universe where the great queens Snow White, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood have had their kingdoms fragmented by warring trolls, giants and goblins. (6 hours 57 minutes) ****


Tinman (2007)
– This is a modern-day re-imagining of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. A waitress named DG (Zooey Deschanel) from a small town finds herself in the dangerous land of “Oz”. She must try to escape a witch with the help of three new friends and the great Mystic Man. (4 Hours 30 Minutes) ***


This collection of mini-series boast of great actors and actresses beyond those we just mentioned above. Such as, Helena Bonham Carter, James Earl Jones, Richard Dreyfuss, Mary Steenburgen, Ned Beatty, Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Isabella Rosselini and Bernadette Peters just to name a few.


The writing, acting and special effects in all of these miniseries are just amazing! They transport you to another place and another time. This big box set of mini-series includes 8 DVDs protected in DVD cases. The audio and video quality is crisp and clear. The DVD menus are easy to navigate. Than the collectors cardboard slipcover is just beautiful! The artwork is stunning and would be great as a display on anyone's DVD shelf! I really am impressed I was with this box set.
