The Black Bat was born in the 1933 by William Jenkins. Black Bat was a vigilante who lived in the shadows who fought crime wearing a black cape and cowl. Sound familiar? Now Tom Cat films brings us the beginnings of this classic vigilante for the first time ever on film.
This film is a origin story and follows U.S. District Attorney Tony Quinn was a was blinded by acid thrown by gangsters. Tony Quinn undergoes a procedure and he ends up with the ability to see in the dark, thus he becomes ‘The Black Bat’.
Tom cat films are known for their mock busters films, but this film is more of an original film instead of a mock film. The screenplay written by Trevor Payne is one of the better scripts from Tom Cat films I’ve seen. The acting however leaves a lot to be desired. Still the film is mildly entertaining. The DVD is pretty bare bones on a trailer and the feature available.
