Knuckleheads: Fist Contact (2014) {DVD Review}

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

IDW Publishing have been giving the Monkeybrain digital comics the print releases these great comics truly deserve! I’ve got the pleasure to review some of these release in the past and now comes another one. This one titled Knuckleheads! With that title you know your in for a crazy ride.

This comic follows Trevor K. Trevinskis is a slacker who soul purpose in life is to live in his underwear and pink robe, drink and play video games. Tervor is visited by aliens and given a very special gift-The Crystal Fist; a pair of diamond-like knuckles and no matter what they can’t be removed. This gift was to be used for Trevor to become a hero, yet he would rather use this power to cheat at videogames and get free Netflix. Than when a large monster attacks the city it’s up to Trevor and his entourage to find a way to save the world. Will they? You’ll have to read the graphic novel to find out!

This is a clever graphic novel and is a collaboration of great talent. The story by Brian Winkeler, art by Robert Wilson IV, colors by Jordan Boyd and lettering by Thomas Mauer. The story takes us on an emotional heroes journey with hilarity, irreverence and action. The art in these panels just flow like water and before I knew it I was halfway done with this book. This is truly a page turner.

I hope to see more of Knuckleheads. In comic books or dare I say movie! That would be awesome! Don’t get left behind in this one! Head over to www.IDWPublishing.com and find out how to get your copy today! You won’t regret it!
