Marshals: Season One (Blu-ray Review)

The epic series Yellowstone, featuring the lives of the Duttons ran for 5 seasons a total of 53 episodes. But like will anything so popular fans clamor for more. So Kayce Dutton would get his own series. Thus, Marshals was born.

Marshals is the 4th series in the Yellowstone franchise. This series is a neo-Western crime drama. Season 2 is set to premiere in October of 2026. So, what a great time to pick up the Blu-ray release of Season 1 and add it to your home video library.

Synopsis: With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. Combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. he and his teammates must balance family, duty and high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region's war on violence.

Marshals is not quite what we experienced with Yellowstone, but it is nonetheless entertaining. Marshals doesn't go for the soap opera elements here; instead, they lean full into a police procedural format. And it totally works. Marshals feels familiar, yet is fresh!

Paramount Home Entertainment has transferred this first season of episodes to 3 Blu-ray discs. The episodes are presented in 1080p and is presented in widescreen format. The audio options are English and French 5.1 Dolby TrueHD. There is also the option for subtitles in English and French.

Not surprisingly, these episodes look really good. After all, this series was produced in 2026 using the best camera and shot in HD. The transfer of these episodes is free from digital artifacts or audio anomalies. They are crisp and clean.

Now for the disappointing part. This Blu-ray set lacks any bonus features whatsoever. No behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, or episode commentaries. Even with the lack of bonus features, fans of the Yellowstone franchise will find this a must-own.
