Reviewed By Jason Lockard

You ever wonder what goes on inside Hollywood? Director
Bernard Rose ventured to bring a look at Hollywood from the inside with Ivansxtc in 2000.

Now 20 years later Arrow Video is giving this film an deluxe Blu-ray treatment with bonus features. Because Arrow Video knows how collectors love their bonus features. Let's take a look at this Blu-ray release.

Ivansxtc opens with the death
Hollywood agent Ivan Beckman,. After which his fellow agents try to pick up the slack that his absence as left. But that is not the real story here. The real story is the film backtracks the final days of the hot-shot agent life and his lifestyle, which led him to an early grave.

The film is loosely based on Leo Tolstoy’s 1886 The Death of Ivan Ilyich. Danny Huston leads wonderful cast that includes original Robocop himself Peter Weller.

The story is very well written and preformed. The film is sultry, steamy and a blistering drama. Bernard Rose really produced a tale of a man who after hearing some horrible news goes out of control. While it is a well written peice it is a hard film to watch a man loose his battle and end his existence.

Also it is good to note that this film is very adult oriented. There is a huge amount of adult content. Including profanity, male and female nudity, sexual content, drug and alcohol use. So by no means is this film for the teens or young one. This is for mature audiences only.

The film is presented in High-Definition and uncompressed Stereo with option of 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The interesting thing here is there is 3 versions of the films, The Original Theatrical Cut (60i Version), Original Theatrical cut (24fps Version) and an extended Producers cut. The film looks and sounds really good.

As for Special bonus feature

* Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
* Q&A with director Bernard Rose, actress/producer/co-writer Lisa Enos, actors Danny Huston, Peter Weller and Adam Krentzman from a 2018 screening at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles

*Original Theatrical Trailer

*Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly-commissioned artwork by Peter Strain

This film while gripping in the tale is a bit depressing in the fact that is deals with one man's death watch. The bonus features are a tad light on this release as well, but still enough for fans of this film to enjoy.
