This series is planned to be 3 seasons and provide an honest and in-depth look into the rocky personal and professional relationship of the duo that founded Desilu Studios.
Desilu became the pioneer for what TV Studios would become. Desilu was responsible for some of the greatest shows in TV history. Including first off, I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith show, Star Trek: The Original series, Mission Impossible, The Untouchables, My Three Sons, I Spy and many more.
Now for this new 3 season series Lucie Arnaz has joined with former NBC and WarnerMedia chairman Bob Greenblatt. They have brought in Oscar-nominated writer Richard LaGravenese to create the series.
The show will be created from the autobiographies written by Ball (Love, Lucy) and Arnaz (A Book), which the rights of these books have recently reverted to their estates.
The series is unapologetically going to explore all the struggles within the family and personal business. Nothing will be off limits including addiction and infidelity, that ultimately led to their divorce.
This is the planned seasons for this new series.
* Season 1: "From Cuba and Jamestown to New York and Hollywood" (1930-1940), focusing on their early careers and individual lives before meeting.
* Season 2: "Family Life, B-Movies and Radio" (1940-1951), covering their early marriage, family, and work leading up to I Love Lucy.
* Season 3: "The Ricardos Catch Fire, and Beyond" (1951-1960 and after), focusing on the immense success of the show, their life as the Ricardos, and the eventual dissolution of their marriage.
The series is currently in the early stages of development and is being pitched to various networks and streaming services.
