Faith-based cinema is not for everyone. But for those who do enjoy this genre of film, we have a recommendation for you. The film Elijah Peel is based on the true-life experiences of Kevin D. Sepe, who produced, wrote and co-directed this film.Elijah Peel hit theaters on August 14th, 2026, and after a short theatrical run, the film is now coming to home video. Now, faith-based film fans can add this film to their home video libraries with the brand-new DVD release.
Synopsis: When a heart attack forces addicted rock star Elijah Peel to face his past, an encounter with a terminally ill girl inspires a painful, redemptive journey to save his life and soul.
This is a tremendous story of overcoming addiction. The only real actor fans will know in this film is Kevin Sorbo. But the acting of Robert Malcolm Cumming and Evelyn Grace Kite is magical. I can see big things ahead for Evelyn Grace Kite; she is that good. While this film is a faith-based one, I didn't find it overly preachy. Which is definitely a good thing, as that could turn the average film fan off.
The film deals with some very heavy content. Including drug use and death. So parents will need to make the decision whether to watch this with their young ones. But there is no offensive language or sexual content to worry about.
This film has been transferred to DVD in widescreen format in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English Dolby 5.1 track. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
This transfer is a good one. There are no digital artifacts or audio anomalies. The picture is crisp and clean with great colors and true flesh tones. It is a great DVD transfer. Now, for bonus features. Sadly, there are none. It would have been nice to see some interviews, an audio commentary, or some additional content; it could have made this release leaps and bounds better.
Still, Elijah Peel is a wonderful dramatic cinematic experience. So if you enjoy faith-based dramas, I can not recommend this new film enough. If you would like to add this film to your home video library, head over to Amazon and order your copy today.
