In the comics, vigilantes don't allow people to bully the smaller ot weaker of the human race. Thus, characters like The Punisher stand up to punish the wicked and protect the innocent. But what about in the real world. What if there was a real vigilante?
In 2026 writer/director Uwe Boll brought to life on the big screen what a real vigilante might look like with his film Citizen Vigilante.
Synopsis: A man takes justice into his own hands, hunting down criminals. His vigilante crusade turns him into a social media sensation while putting him at odds with law enforcement and drawing the attention of dangerous enemies.
Citizen Vigilante is a film that becomes ultra-political in this divisive world in which we live. I understand why some would want to see this film get 'cancelled'. It has already been banned in some places. But let's be honest here cancelling or banning a film just makes people want to see it more, to find out what the fuss is all about.
Armie Hammer stars as Michael Sanders, a man who takes the law into his own hands and tries to do what he feels governments fail to do. The premise is good, but the execution leaves a bit to be desired.
Citizen Vigilante was originally to be entitled The Dark Knight before Warner Bros sent director Uwe Boll. Thus the less-than-spectacular title Citizen Vigilante. This film is coming to Blu-ray. And you may want to snatch your copy before it get banned.
The film has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. There are two audio tracks: English 5.1 and 2.0. There is also the option for subtitles in English and French.
The Blu-ray transfer is good for a film that was not a big blockbuster film. On the Blu-ray, there are bonus features that include, a director's commentary by Uwe Boll and a featurette Costas Mandylor on Uwe Boll and bonus trailers.
Citizen Vigilante is not a tremendous thriller, but I have sat through worse during my career of reviewing films. This film feels like The Punisher on a budget.
If Citizen Vigilante sounds like a film you would like to check out by all means head over to Amazon and order your copy today. You never know; you may just enjoy it.
Out of 4 films reels (4 being the best) the Blu-ray of Citizen Vigilante receives....
