Law & Order Complete Series DVD Review | All 20 Seasons of the Original Show

For a TV show to make it to 20 seasons is quite a feat. Most of the time a show will struggle to make it 4 or 5 seasons. One such show the beat the odds was the crime drama Law & Order. Now Universal Home Entertainment have given the complete original series of Law & Order a massive super deluxe DVD release. Now physical media fans no longer have to worry about streaming this series. They can own it forever!

Synopsis: Dick Wolf's primetime series covered the dedicated NYC police who investigated crimes & the district attorneys who prosecuted the offenders. Known for its hard-hitting, ripped-from-the-headlines style, the series showcased the talents of numerous illustrious stars from stage and screen. Law and Order is a stark realistic series. While watching this series it almost feels like watching a documentary as opposed to a drama series. The cast is remarkably great together. The episodes are wonderfully written and spectacularly shot. This series is great from season 1 to season 20.

These episodes have been transferred to DVD and are presented in their original 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English Dolby Digital 2.0. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

These are now Blu-ray upgrades. That is a shame. But these episodes still look pretty nice on standard definition. The episodes are crisp and clean. There are no signs of damage. There is no digital artifacts or audio anomalies. So, it is still a nice way to collect this series.

Now in addition to 104 DVD discs, 20 season and 497 episodes ripped from the headlines. There are some very cool bonus features. Deleted and Extended Scenes; Cast Profiles; Set Tour and Crossover Episodes.

Each season receives its own DVD cases, and all 20 season cases are housed in a cardboard case. Now in all honesty hear the cardboard case is a bit flimsy for a weight of 20 DVD cases. If you pick up this case, you better hold it from the bottom as it would probably rip.
