The Fabulous Thunderbirds: Live in Houston (Blu-ray Review)

Cleopatra Entertainment have been releasing a little bit of everything. We have seen Blu-ray releases for sci-fi, horror and dramas. I had the extreme pleasure to review the heartwarming A Streetcat Named Bob, the amazing Shin Ultraman and the latest Christmas slasher Silent Bite.

But Cleopatra Entertainment is not only in the business of releasing films on Blu-ray. They also released music events. So, the latest Blu-ray is an event featuring The Fabulous Thunderbirds. 

Synopsis: Founded in 1974 by Harmonica player/vocalist Kim Wilson and guitarist Jimmie Vaughan (brother of Stevie Ray Vaughan), The Fabulous Thunderbirds were originally just a blues band, before their sound evolved to include Cajun, Soul and Rock influences. This rare 2006 concert from Houston captures Kim and the boys in all their glory as they rip through a smoking' live set including their biggest hits!

So The Fabulous Thunderbirds may not be as household names as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, But they were pretty popular in their own right. In 1986 their album 'Tuff Enuff' sold over a million copies, not to shabby. The album even scored two minor hit singles: the title track and "Wrap It Up".

So, this 2006 concert event has been uprezzed by Cleopatra Entertainment and transferred to Blu-ray. And the end results are a really nice copy of the concert. The picture is crisp and music is great. The concert event featured 11 of the groups best songs and runs about an hour in length.

Now like with any genre of music. So many love the Fabulous Thunderbirds and some may not. But if you love music there is no denying that you will find yourself enjoying the music of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. This concert is very entertaining and worth checking out.
