Blu-ray Review: Men at Work (1990) MVD Rewind Collection

In the late 80s into the 90s two stars people wanted to see was Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. Now put them together and you got double bang for your buck. Emilo Estevez wrote and directed this cult classic, yes we are talking about Men At Work.

This film while available on streaming, DVD and even a double feature Blu-ray with Rodney Danger's Easy Money never received a stand alone Blu-ray release. Well, that is until now! MVD Visual under the division MVD Rewind Collection are giving this film a chance to shine on Blu-ray all by itself.

Carl Taylor (Charlie Sheen, Platoon) and James St. James (Emilio Estevez, The Breakfast Club) are garbage men who spend their workdays goofing around and disrupting the quiet on the streets of their town. When Carl sees next door neighbor Susan Wilkens (Leslie Hope, Talk Radio) being assaulted He takes matters into his own hands and shoots the assailant in the butt with a pellet gun. The Next Day Carl, James and Louis (Keith David, They Live) find the man stuffed in a can. Now as they try to keep the dead body away from the cops they uncover a bigger cover-up that only they can uncover!

Men at Work is entertaining, absurd and hilarious. It has a real Weekend at Bernie's feel to it. Probably because it has a very similar storyline. Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez and Keith David make a fun comedy trio. They antics are slapstick comedy fun. There not the Three Stooges, but they are fun to watch.

The film is rated PG-13. While there is no nudity, there is a scene of murder and the adult language is pretty heavy. So yes parental guidance is defiantly suggested for this one.

Men At Work arrive on Blu-ray  thanks to MVD Rewind Collection. The film is presented in 1080p in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The audio is a he LPCM 2.0 track. There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. In addition there is subtitles in Spanish and French.

The film looks pretty good in HD. There is no signs of damage to the print. The colors are bright and vibrant and the pictures is crisp. The soundtrack is clear with no hiss of pops. It is a very nice transfer. But that is not all there is to this release. MVD added some cool bonuses. Take a look at what is included.
