On August 11th 2014 the world lost a comedy legend. He first gained the world's attentions the lovable alien Mork from the planet Ork. First seen in the TV series Happy Days and later in the spin off Mork and Mindy we saw Robin Williams be able to spread his comedic wings, packing the most comedy in a 30 minute time frame.
Robin would continue doing stand-up but would also find himself starring in movies. Now later in his career he would be able to try dramatic roles, and even more than just trying his hand he thrived in those dramatic roles.
As we are on the anniversary of Robin Williams tragic passing! We celebrate his life by counting down our favorite comedy films of this funny man!
7. Flubber (1997) An absent-minded professor discovers "flubber," a rubber-like super-bouncy substance.
6. Jack (1996) Suffering from an unusual disorder that ages him four times faster than a typical human, a boy who looks 40 starts fifth grade at public school after being homeschooled.
5. RV (2006) Bob rents an RV and drags his family along for a road trip to the Colorado Rockies. When they arrive they have to contend with a bizarre bunch of campers.
4. Jumanji (1995) Two kids find and play a magical board game, they release a man trapped in it for decades and other unexpected terrors.
3. Popeye (1980) The adventures of the famous sailor man and his friends in the seaside town of Sweethaven.
2. Hook (1991) Captain James Hook kidnaps the children of an adult Peter Pan. Now Peter must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit in order to save his children.
1. Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) After a divorce and custody battle, an actor disguises himself as a female housekeeper to spend time with his children.
Robin Williams wore the face of a clown even though behind he was struggling. Sadly the struggle with Lewy body dementia got to much for him and ended his life. Fans were robbed of more of his brilliance and his family were robbed of a father, husband, brother and friend.
While we will never get to see another Robin Williams performance, he left behind a catalogue of films that film fans can watch over and over again. Rest In Peace Robin Williams.
