The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan (1979) {Kino Lorber Blu-ray Review}

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

Made-For-TV movies have went the way of the dinosaur. We no longer have movie night on television where families would sit down with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy time together. Kino Lorber is bringing back movie night to families just now on Blu-ray.

Kino Lorber and Scorpion Releasing previously released Lee Majors in The Norseman. You can read the Blu-ray review of that release here! So The Six Million Dollar Man had his at bat, not it's time for the Bionic Woman to step up to the plate. The time it is the 1979 Made-For-TV Movie The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan.

Micheal and Jennie Logan are having a strained marriage after Micheal's infidelity. So to make things up to her he buys her, her dream house. An old Victorian house in New England. While cleaning the attic Jennie finds an antique dress. When she puts it on she travel back in time. In the past she meets David an artist and falls in love. Now torn between life with her husband and the artist in the past who was murdered at the turn of the century. She must make a tough decision. What is it? You'll have to see the film to find out.

Frank De Felitta wrote the teleplay adapted from the novel "Second Sight" by David L. Williams. I have to be honest I think the teleplay was a bit less complicated of a story line than the novel. It also made a much more sense. He also did the masterful job of directing this film for the small screen.

Lindsay Wagner and Marc Singer are a remarkable onscreen duo. This movie has its roots in sci-fi with the time travel element, but make no mistake about it, this is very soap opera romantic drama. So this is not for everyone, but fans of sc-fi romantic films are going to fall in love with this one.

Kino Lober has transferred this film in 1080p in it's original 1.37:1 aspect ratio and the audio is a DTS 2.0 mono audio. Full disclosure here. I have never seen this film before. So I can not compare to other releases. But I can tell you that the transfer looks and sounds absolutely amazing.

Now for Bonus feature there is English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. Always a cool bonus. Than there is vintage movie trailers for; Slow dancing in the big city, Fool in Love, The Tamarind Seed, The Greek Tycoon, King of the Mountain and 9/30/55.

I think if you are a fan of Bionic Woman Lindsay Wagner or The Beastmaster Marc Singer this is a must own for your Blu-ray collection. I am glad to display this on my shelf next to my Beastmaster Movie.
