Crawler (2019) {Alpha New Cinema DVD Review}

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

Alpha New Cinema is a division of Alpha Home Entertainment and they are releasing newer B movie sci-fi and horror movies. One of the recent one was the 'sequel' to the Bela Lugosi classic The Devil Bat. This one was entitled The Revenge of the Devil Bat. You can read the full review of that DVD here.

Now it is time to look at another Alpha New Cinema release. This time on DVD we look at the sci-fi horror film Crawler. Made on a small budget this is a film that fans of those b movies with bad acting and bad CGI are going to love.

The film follows the path of an extraterrestrial who falls to Earth during a meteor shower. Landing in the woods. A small group of UFO trackers search for and find the meteorite. The only problem is the meteorite is empty. The alien creature is loose and looking for blood.

The UFO trackers aren't the only ones looking for the creature, a group of military soldiers and government agents are as well, as they have known about the "crawlers" for a while now. Will they find the it before this man eating creature finds them? You'll have to see the find to find out.

Crawler is the definition of B movie sci-fi horror. Everyone is acting to the hilt, but in an entertaining way. The CGI is what you would expect from those Syfy channel movies that fans go ape over. Fans of Don Dohler films The Alien Factor and Galaxy Invader are going to love this one.

It is good to note that Crawler does have some adult language, graphic violence and nudity. So yes parents be aware before you let the young ones grab this DVD.

The film has been transferred on DVD in widescreen format. The audio is in English Dolby Digital 2.0 audio. The picture is crisp and sharp  with just a slight hint of artifacts. The film looks and sounds pretty good for a low budget sci-fi movie. But where this film excels from the others is the bonus features. Take a look at what is included.

Bonus Features include:
 * Behind the scenes Documentary
 * Don Liefert Tribute
 * Trailer

Crawler has a very 'predator' feel to it, without being Predator. I have to say I believe that B Movie fans will love this sci-fi action adventure. But if you are looking for the high end effects of the big blockbuster releases, you are going to be disappointed.

So if you enjoy sci-fi horror B movies, you can order a copy of Crawler on DVD-R at Alpha Video's website here. You can also see the full trailer on the site as well.

Out of 4 Film reels (4 being the best) Alpha Video's DVD of Crawler receives...
