Blu-ray Review: Ultraman Orb Movie

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

Mill Creek Entertainment has been releasing Ultraman series on Blu-ray. This has made Kaiju fans dreams comes true. People have been waiting for years for US releases.

I recently got the extreme pleasure to review the Ultraman Orb Complete set. You can read our full review of that set here and the Orb Origin Saga here!

Mill Creek Entertainment is giving the Ultraman Orb Movie it's own Blu-ray release. This is really cool for Collecters who want to have a series and movie separate on the shelf.

The movie event follows Gai who has returned to the SSP after he was informed by Ultraman Zero, who had aided him in defeating the revived Galactron in Hawaii, that there was a new threat approaching. While going back, Gai met Ultraman X who was briefly separated from his host Daichi after an enemy attack, and remained in the X Devizer. But during that time, Mulnau and her forces appeared and captured X to be made as part of her space jewels.

Just like all Ultraman series this short 71-minute movie is action-packed. It moves along at a great speed. The story if you're not familar with the characters could leave you a bit lost maybe. The story is still a good one. I love the bright and vibrant colors that are so in your face. This movie continues the adventures of our favorite hero and bringing us new adventures along the way.

Now for the Blu-ray transfer. The movie has been transferred in 1080p Widscreen format and 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo. If you don't speak Japanese don't worry there is English subtitles. The movie looks sensational on Blu-ray! The colors pop off the screen in a collage of colors for the eyes.

So if you are a fan of Ultraman you have to continue the journey. For more information on this release head over to MillCreekEnt.com or pick up a copy of the Blu-ray at Amazon.com or your local Blu-ray provider.
