Reviewed by Jason LockardIn the history of cinema, dogs have been a big part of films for generations. From Rin Tin Tin to Lassie, but probably the cutest and most lovable little pooch was Benji. Never had a dog melted the hearts of moviegoers like her.
About two years ago Mill Creek Entertainment released four Benji films on Blu-ray. Benji The Original Movie, For the Love of Benji, Benji's Very own Christmas Story and Benji: Off the Leash. Now in case you missed those Mill Creek is releasing all four films on DVD and Digital

BENJI: OFF THE LEASH – Colby is the son of a puppy mill owner. Colby falls in love with a mixed breed and hides him from his dad. The pup grows up and tries to free his sick mom from the illegal breeding factory. **
These films really are the epitome of family entertainment. While some of the clothes may be a bit dated the themes of love are not. There is nothing offensive in these films. The only thing could be some images of peril for Benji that might be a bit intense for sensitive viewers. The whole family can sit down and enjoy these features.
As for the DVD transfers the films are presented in widescreen format in 1.85:1 aspect ratio and in Dolby digital audio. There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. You might think the quality would suffer all four films on one DVD, but I was shockingly surprised that these film look very good. For someone who wants all these films in a slim line case this is a perfect choice.
