Elfette Saves Christmas

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. People seem to be kinder than normal. Kids are trying to be extra good to make up for the bad stuff throughout the year. And movies seem to be ultra Christmasy.

Well, one such film has the tagline "A Little Christmas Spirit Can Go A Long Way!" And that movie is Elfette Saves Christmas. It is now available on DVD and Digital from Mill Creek Entertainment. Let's take a look at this release.

The film follows an elf named Elfette (Brielle Carter) who is on her vacation in Florida, but has to cut it short when Santa Claus (Quinton Aaron) has been kidnapped by the New York Mafia’s crime boss, Little Georgie (George Vricos)!  It's up to Elfette to make the rescue!

Upon arriving in New York, Elfette finds herself lost in a human world she doesn’t understand and with a lunatic elf hunter named Ernest Killingsworth III (Zachary Vasquez) in hot pursuit. To save the day and prove herself as an extra special elf, she must team up with her best friend Sparkle (Aléa Figueroa) to save Christmas, Santa, and the elves before Christmas is ruined for the entire world!

Now, this film is just as it sounds. It's a little childish and at times a little goofy. I think it was trying a little too hard to be like the film "ELF" instead of just being it's own film. But I think for the young and young at heart, those you haven't become jaded over the Christmas season this is going to be a lot of fun. Brielle Carter does a fine job leading the cast. And the special effects are well done. But I have to be honest this film is not for everyone.

As for the film transfer on the DVD. It is presented in a widescreen format. There is an option for Stereo or 5.1 Surround Sound. There is also an option for English Closed Captioning. I have to say this film is crystal clear. The colors pop of the screen the greens, reds, and golds are amazing. It just screams holidays.

As for bonus features! The DVD has the trailer and there is also a digital code for the film that can be redeemed on the free MovieSPREE app. The app is on Apple and Android. MovieSPREE can be accessed on Computer, tablet or smartphone. It is also on Roku and FireTV.
