Some tales are as old as time itself! They have been passed down from generation to generation! Parents and grandparents have been telling kids some of these stories and they never seem to get old!

Well, the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment have released a new DVD and Digital set of animated films based on these classic tales. The DVD set is entitled The Jungle Book and Friends. Let's take a look at what is included in this collection.

Our Rating System
**** = Don't Miss it!
***= Worth a look.
**= An OK way to spend an evening.
*=You haven't missed anything.

The Jungle Book (2000) Based on Rudyard Kipling's famous book, the story follows a lost boy named Mowgli, who is adopted and raised by a family of wolves and Baloo the bear. ***

Cinderella (2005) Cinderella is forced to work for her evil stepmother and stepsisters. With the help of her fairy godmother, she just may fall in love with a prince. ***

The Legend of Snow White (2005) Snow White escapes the evil clutches of her evil stepmother and finds safety in a cottage with seven dwarfs. ***

Simba, The King Lion: The Final Battle (2005)  Simba and his jungle animal friends in this high quality entertaining animated feature for your kids and family. **

Now amazing as it is to get all 4 of these animated films on DVD.
Now, these are not Disney films, for some that may or may not be a good thing. Personally, I like the different take on these classic tales. The animation is very well done as well as the voice acting. All films are presented in the original full-screen format. You might think 4 films on 1 DVD would result in terrible quality, but I think they look really good. Besides kids, they are not analyzing whether something is high definition or not!

As for the packaging, the DVD disc is housed in a hard-shell case. I love the artwork. I think it was designed very well giving you an idea of what to expect

So for the young ones in the family or even those young at heart this collection is a great one to have.
