Black Hawk Down: The Untold Story

At the time of this review it has been just a week from the 4K release of the feature film Black Hawk Down. But there story is more to the story.

So the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment is releasing Randall Larsen's production of the documentary film Black Hawk Down: The Untold Story on DVD.

In October 1993, two U.S. Black Hawk helicopters were shot down in Mogadishu, Somalia. With the special forces pinned down at the crash sites, the 2nd Battalion 14th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division (2-14) engaged in a ferocious fight to reach the soldiers and bring them home.

This documentary is full of amazing accounts from the men that lived it. There are even clips from presidents Bush and Clinton. Plus clips of news reports help bring the gravity of this event to life.


We are taken step by step through this whole scary events. There is great animations that help tell the story visually. This documentary is told in a very in-depth and runs just 68 minutes. Randall Larsen packs so much in such a short run time.

As for this DVD release, the film is presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen format and Dolby digital audio. The film looks and sounds stunning.
