The Rundown {Blu-ray Review}

Reviewed by: Jason Lockard

Dwayne Johnson is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood. He seems to be everywhere. It's hard to believe it all started in a wrestling ring. He was known as the most electrifying man in sport entertainment soon Hollywood was calling and he would be in The Mummy Returns.

In 2003 The Rock would join forced with Seann William Scott for a comedy adventure entitled The Rundown. The good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment has released this action packed comedy on Blu-ray /DVD combo pack.

The film follows Beck (The Rock) less talk more action bounty hunter and "retrieval specialist". Beck has a huge problem he is debt to a Bookie named Walker. To extinguish the debt he accepts a job without asking any questions. Walker is sent to the jungles of the Amazon to bring Walker's rebellious son Travis (Seann William Scott) home. Instead of completing his mission Beck soon finds himself joining Travis to hunt down a priceless treasure.

The film is funny action packed thrill ride. Director Peter Berg, helps Dwayne Johnson balance between comedy and action very well! This is not Rock's best film, but it is a fun film for a little escape from the cares of everyday life.

As for this combo pack the film is presented in 2.35:1 wide-screen format and 5.1 audio.
the colors are vibrant it really shines while in the jungle scenes. As for the audio it is crytsal clear. The film transfer looks and sounds better than the previous DVD copy I had.  Clearly this is a huge upgrade.

As for bonus features there is only English subtitles for the hearing impaired. That is the only real downside of this release in my opinion.  But the stunning quality of the picture makes this a must add for any Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson fan.

So if your a fan of Dwayne Johnson like me. This Blu-ray of 'The Rundown' is a must add to your collection.
