Animated shows for adults are all the rage! Superhero movies and shows are also all the rage! So what do you get when you mash them together! You get The Awesomes and now thanks to the good people at Mill Creek Entertainment we can all own the entire cartoon series is on DVD or Blu-ray!

The Awesomes is a HULU Original series. A show straight from the minds of "Saturday Night Live" veterans Seth Meyers and Michael Shoemaker.

The Awesomes are a group of superheros lead by the greatest superhero in the world Mr. Awesome. When Mr. Awesome decides to retire his son Prock (Professor Doctor Awesome) wants to fill his shoes as leader. There is only one problem all the heroes decide to quit the team.

So Prock has to get the second rate superheroes to keep the team alive. He make a team that includes;
“Muscleman”, one of the strongest but not the sharpest guy in the world. “Frantic”, a young southern hick with superhuman speed, and the ability to run 500 miles an hour. “Impresario”, an adult man who still lives at home with his mother. He has the ability to conjure up anything he can imagine. However, everything he creates seems to have his mother’s face and voice attached to it. “Sumo”, an 11-year-old who transforms into a hulking sumo wrestler whenever he gets angry or hurt.“Gadget Gal” (Paula Pell), a retired original member of The Awesomes who decides to get back in the game after she is hit by a rejuvenation ray and turned 25 again.“Hotwire” (Rashida Jones), a young woman with the ability to manipulate electricity.

The animation in this series is classic looking animation. It's not anime, which some people love, me I'm not a huge fan of it. The voice actors did a great job bringing these characters to life. They include past and present SNL stars such as, Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Lee, Taran Killiam, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, Keanan Thompson, Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudoplh, Fred Armisen, Kate McKinnon and Andy Samberg.

The stories move along fast! Some are better than others! But that is to be expected with any series! Some of the jokes are not as funny as probably the writers thought they would be. All in all it is a pretty funny little series! Do take in mind though this is for the adults! Very adult humor and adult language! Even though some is bleeped out you can tell what is being said. So this is not for the kiddies at all!

There are 30 episodes on 3 DVDs that is 10 episodes a disc. The audio and video quality of these episodes do not suffer at all from being 10 episodes on a disc! The episodes look stunning! Now lets take a look at the bonus features! You get the trailers and promos for all 3 seasons, that is really a cool bonus.

So if you love adult animation you got to check out The Awesomes! The complete series is available for purchase on Mill Creek website on Blu-ray or DVD or you can head over to your Blu-ray and DVD provider and get your copy today!
