George A. Romero’s horror classic "Night of the Living Dead" is the inspiration for the zombie craze. With the film falling into the public domain and thus being on endless amounts of DVD releases and all over the internet; I can’t imagine anyone not seeing this film yet, but just in case you haven’t I’ll give a brief synopsis of the film.
In rural Pennsylvania at of the clear blue the dead begin climbing from their graves. A young lady named Barbra (Judith O’Dea) after watching her brother Johnny being killed by one of the zombies, she takes off with the zombie in tow. She finds herself at an abandoned farmhouse. There she and 6 others barricade themselves in and hope to survive the coming zombie attacks.
Now for the DVD release for classic film purest there is the restored b/w classic. Than there is also the beautifully colorized film. I’ve seen colorized films that have made me sick to my stomach that they colorized the film; but Legend Films have done a tremendous job the color is eye popping, but it doesn’t take away from the terror of the film, it is just a nice add on. Now for bonus features: You get an audio commentary by Mike Nelson of Mystery Science Theater 3000, vintage trailers and separated at birth a celebrity zombie game.
This film has been released on DVD probably a hundred times, but this is one I’m glad I got to see! I highly recommend it! It’s cool to see the screams in color! So if your a fan of this classic zombie flick head over to Amazon and pick this one up. You won’t regret it!
