Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Double Feature {Review}

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

A successful comedy teams is a hard thing to accomplish because there must be a chemistry between the two or more comedians. One such team was crooner Dean Martin and slapstick specialist Jerry Lewis. These two launched to super stardom when they joined together and just as fast broke the team apart and led to many fans wishing it would have never happened.

I have a huge Martin and Lewis collection! But recently added two more films to my every increasing collection of films. Those two films are Jumping Jacks and Pardners. Let's take a look at these two films.

Our Rating System:
****=Don’t Miss it!
***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend an evening.
*=You haven’t missed anything.

Jumping Jacks (1952): Nightclub comic Hap Smith assumes the identity of another soldier so he can tour army bases in a revue with his ex-partner Chuck Allen. ***

Pardners (1956): A rich momma's boy returns west with the son of his murdered father's partner to foil a gang trying to gain control of his family ranch. ***

These two had such an amazing chemistry. There timing was impeccable! When I was a kid in the late 80s and first discovered Martin and Lewis, I couldn't get enough of their movies! Than when I found out that they ended their team and I would soon be at the end of their comic journey together my heart was broken!

But thankfully with the advent of DVD and Blu-ray now we can relive the iconic duos mayhem over and over for years and years to come. Introducing a new generation of young people to their slapstick crazy antics.

Warner Brothers Archive Collection has released two volumes of the duos films on DVD. Volume 1 and Volume 2! I can not recommend Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis films enough to people. They are clean wholesome family entertainment.
