George Burns Lost TV Collection (1953-59) {DVD Review}

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

George Burns and Gracie Allen is arguably the most love TV couple of all time. Sweet little innocent Gracie and her patient husband George. Their comedy show was the most unique one in the annals of television. But when Gracie became ill and retired, George decided to rework the story line and make a spin-off show. The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show spun-off to simply The George Burns Show.

In this spin-off show Blanche and Harry Morton the neighbors return, lending a sense of real continuation to the original show! Also George and Gracie's son Ronnie Burns as himself joins the cast along with Judi Meredith as Ronnie's girlfriend.

Now the great folks at Alpha Video have released a collection of George Burns shows and a special bonus with 'The George Burns Lost TV Collection'. Let's take a look at what is included in this collection!

Our Rating System:

Sadly The George Burn show didn't find an audience and it only lasted 1 season. But there was a lot of fun in the episodes! The 5 episodes found in this collection are really nice audio and video quality! They are not perfect quality, there are some imperfections! But any true fan of classic TV knows these episodes will never be perfect! They TV networks just didn't take care of the prints! Never dreaming that there would be an advent of home video!
