The film is entitled Where's Officer Tuba? With that title, with the starring Sammo Kam-Bo Hung and seeing the Blu-ray cover art. You know you are not in for the typical action/Adventure film.
Synopsis: When timid police officer Tuba (Sammo Hung, Martial Law) - more interested in music than chasing crooks, is put on a dangerous mission, he witnesses the killing of decorated hero Chow, who makes him promise to avenge his death. However, when he fails to live up to his promise, Chow returns as a ghost.
Where's Officer Tuba? is a hilarious comedy film with elements of the supernatural sprinkled in. While maybe not the greatest work Sammo ever did, it is a fun little film. Watching Sammo Hung, you could say Sammo Hung s the Jerry Lewis of Asian Cinema. But in actuality, he is much more. He has elements of Jerry Lewis, Buster Keaton, Gene Kelly and Clint Eastwood in his performances. A very talented actor!
88 Films have restored this film in 2K from The Original Negative. This new restoration has been transferred to Blu-ray on 1080p and is presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. There are two audio tracks to choose from: the newly remastered Original Cantonese Monoaural Soundtrack with newly translated English Subtitles and the 2.0 English Mono Dub.
As with all 88 Films restorations, the picture quality is simply stellar. The colors are bright and vibrant and the flesh tones are correct. There is no signs of damage to this print that I witnessed in screening this film. This is another great job by 88 Films, but it didn't stop there; they added some nice bonus features.
Bonus Materials:
* O-Ring Slip Case With New Artwork By Sean Longmore
* Audio Commentary by Hong Kong Experts Frank Djeng and F.J. DeSanto
* English Opening and Closing Credits
* Original Cantonese Trailer
* Image Gallery
* Reversible Sleeve
* Two-sided Mini-Poster
Now, the packaging of this Blu-ray disc is a standout. 88 Films really goes above and beyond to make their Blu-rays stand out in the crowd. The artwork by Sean Longmore is beautiful. This Blu-ray is more than just a movie it is a work of art.
