One thing that always bothered me was the ending. Most fans felt Dr. Sam Beckett should have made it home. But it never happened. Then when a new version of Quantum Leap was announced I had hope that somehow, we may finally see Sam make it home.
Synopsis: Decades after Dr. Sam Beckett disappeared in the Quantum Leap accelerator, a new team comes together to unlock the machine's mysteries. However, a greater mystery unfolds when physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee) uses the accelerator to take an unplanned trip through time. With pieces of his memory missing, Ben now finds himself leaping from body to body as he alters ordinary lives and monumental moments for reasons he cannot remember. To get Ben back, Ben's fiancee Addison (Caitlin Bassett) becomes a helpful hologram and Herbert "Magic" Williams (Ernie Hudson) leads a support team whose hidden secrets could completely change history. On his quest to return home, Ben must become an astronaut, exorcist, bounty hunter, gunslinger, boxer and more through incredible time-traveling adventures across one unforgettable journey.
In a day an age it seems all TV show episodes tend to play out a huge story arc and you have to watch every single episode, or you get lost. Quantum Leap falls more in the line of the original series, although there is a bigger storyline in the background. We won't spoil that here. The episodes like with all series are a bit hit and miss!

This is a complete series Blu-ray set. 31 episode 7 discs and zero bonus features. That is a shame. I would love to have seen a behind the scenes making of featurette, bloopers and gag reels, those are always fun, Interviews with Raymond Lee, Caitlin Bassett and the great Ernie Hudson, that would have made this Blu-ray set so much better.
Quantum Leap is apparently a cursed premise. The original series ended in a cliffhanger as they were planning on changing the story idea and continue. Well, in season 2 of this series, the ended in a cliffhanger changing the whole idea of quantum leaping. And then it was cancelled. Thus, both shows ended without a real conclusion. Sad.
While this version of Quantum Leap cannot compare to the original series. It is never fair to judge a spin off or revival show by the original. This series has interesting characters, good special effects and stories that connect the viewer to the original series. So that is cool!
If you love sci-fi television as much as I do Quantum Leap is a wonderful premises. And if you are looking to experience the newest version of this show you can order a copy of the complete series of the new Quantum Leap on Blu-ray by heading over to MovieZyng or Amazon today.
