Furious (1984) Visual Vengeance Blu-ray Review

Kung Fu films were always so much fun. I grew up watching the martial arts action, the bad English dubs and was thrilled by ever solitary second of these films. These Kung Fu masters were more like superheroes. So, what if Kung Fu Masters faced off against evil Aliens? Oh if only someone would have made a movie like that..... Wait someone did!

In 1984 Tim Everitt and Tom Sartori co-produced and co-directed Furious. Now for the 40th Anniversary of this film's release, Visual Vengeance have given this wonderfully weird cinematic experience a deluxe Blu-ray release.

Synopsis
: Simon, a fierce Kung Fu master, ventures into the city's gritty underbelly for answers to his sister's death. There, a cunning spiritual master deceives him, plotting to snatch his piece of an ancient amulet he shared with her. Unraveling the scheme, Simon plunges fists and feet first into a bone-crushing battle for the fate of the world against an alien army of karate wizards, dragons, a new wave clone band, talking pigs and mystical chickens!

4 years before they would be in "the Best of the Best" franchise brothers Simon and Philip Rhee starred in this bizarre, but strangely entertaining feature. Everitt and Sartori took elements of genres of kung fu, supernatural, horror and superhero put them in a blender and Furious is what came out. A crazy non-stop action film that will keep you entertained to the end.

Visual Vengeance has transferred Furious to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in full screen format in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English 2.0 mono track. There is also the o
ption for English subtitles. But this transfer is not just any transfer is features a new SD master from original tape elements. Furious looks pretty impressive on Blu-ray. The film is surprising clean and sharp. But as with Visual Vengeance Blu-rays there is tons of bonus features included in this release. Take a look at what is included.
