CSI: Vegas:The Complete Series (2021-2024) DVD Review

When you think of crime drama tv shows a lot of shows come to mind. Hawaii 5.0, Lw and Order, S.W.A.T., Las Vegas, Psych, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

After a successful 15 year run CSI was brought back for a revival series in 2021. This time the show would be called CSI: Vegas. In May of 2024 CSI: Vegas ended its 3-season run. Now Paramount Home Entertainment has given the completes series of CSI: Vegas a DVD release.

Synopsis: CSI: VEGAS, the sequel to the global hit “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” opens a brand-new chapter in Las Vegas—the city where it all began. Facing an existential threat that could bring down the entire Crime Lab and release thousands of convicted killers back onto the neon-lit streets of Vegas, a brilliant new team of investigators led by Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome) must enlist the help of old friends Gil Grissom (William Petersen), Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), David Hodges (Wallace Langham) and Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger). This combined force will deploy the latest forensic techniques to do what they do best—follow the evidence—in order to preserve and serve justice in Sin City.

CSI: Vegas had very large shoes to fill. Anytime you are trying to follow in the large shadow of a classic movie or TV show you are always going to be compared to the original. That is totally unfair, but it happens.

CSI: Vegas has an all-new cast and if you love the original cast, it may be hard to adjust to the new characters. The only familiar faces returning are that of William Petersen, Jorja Fox and Paul Guilfoyle. While this new series may not be as fresh and exciting as the original CSI, there is no denying the entertainment value of these episodes.

These episodes have been transferred to DVD and are presented in widescreen format. The audio is a 5.1 Dolby Digital track. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

The transfers are crisp and clean. The episodes show no signs of digital artifacts and there are no audio anomalies whatsoever. But beautiful looking episodes is not all the is included on this 10 Disc DVD Set. There are some cool bonus features. Take a look at what is included.

Seeing 41 episodes of a TV series on DVD is great, but the bonus of the featurettes and deleted scenes. Then the always fun gag reels. Paramount really went all out for this release. And I totally appreciate the work that went in to making this set something special.
