Former NFL Football players Thomas Pestock, was known in WWE as Baron Corbin. On January 1st Corbin's contract with WWE expired as they chose not to renew his contract with the company giving him free agent status.
Durning his WWE career he held many titles. WWE United States Championship (1X), WWE King of the Ring (1X), WWE André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (1X), Mr. Money in the Bank (1X), NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic (1X) (with Bron Breakker) and NXT Tag Team Championship (1X) (with Bron Breakker). Now as impressive as this is JBL stated many times on commentary he was a future WWE World Champion, but sadly that never happened.
As we know by now WWE trademarks the names their 'entertainers'. So when Corbin left he was going to either have to use his real name or choose a new one. Well, Tom Pestock has submitted a new trademark application on January 21 with the United States and Trademark Office (USPTO). The application was filed via Michael E. Dockins under the entertainment and merchandise category. The trademark is for “Bishop Dyer”.
You can check out the official description for the trademark below:
“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.”
