The King of Queens: The Complete Series (Blu-ray Review)

A couple years ago Mill Creek Entertainment released a deluxe Blu-ray sets of the amazing TV series Magnum P.I. and Seaquest DSV. Classic TV fans have been waiting for the next deluxe Blu-ray set. Well, the wait is over!

This time it is not a detective show or a sci-fi adventure. This time it is a hilarious sitcom. The Complete series of the Kevin James comedy The King of Queens has come home to Blu-ray!

Many may know him as Paul Blart Mall Cop. Or from movies such as Here comes the Boom, Zookeeper, Grown Ups, or even from his stand-up comedy. But Kevin James in the late 90's into the 2000's he starred in the amazingly successful sitcom The King of Queens.

Synopsis: Kevin James stars as Doug Heffernan, a lovable regular guy who works for IPS delivery service, but each night comes home to his loving wife, Carrie (Leah Remini) and a frustrating father-in-law Arthur (Jerry Stiller). Doug's only refuge from Crazy Arthur is the time he spends alone with Carrie and friends.

The writing in this series is hilariously funny. Each episode deals with Doug finding himself in a crazy situation and dragging his friends, Carrie his wife, his off the wall Father-in-law or friends along for the ride.

The cast does a tremendous job together here.

This series was released previously by Mill Creek Entertainment on DVD. And while that was a great little set. I never realized how soft the picture quality was on the DVD until I compared them to this Blu-ray set. The episodes on Blu-ray are a little crisper. By no means are these episodes 4K clear, but they are definitely an upgrade from the DVDs.

One of the best parts of this new Blu-ray set is the inclusion of bonus features! Special features include Audio Commentaries, a laugh montage, The Writer of the Kings of Queens featurette, 200th Episode celebration, Behind the Scenes featurette, Series retrospective and Thanks to the fans.
