This collection of silent films feature not only the amazing comedic talent of Charley Chase, but great supporting casts as well. We even see appearances by Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy before they would team together to become one of the most iconic comedy teams in cinema history.
These silent era comedies have lovingly restored and transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in the original full screen format. The audio is a LPCM audio 2.0. CineMuseum LLC has performed a wonderful restoration on these silent comedy classics.
When you realize that these films will soon be 100 years old, it is stunning how amazing they look. I have seen many silent films in my time and most look pretty scratches up and are not in the best shape. These newly restored films are gorgeous. They look amazing!
Now for bonus features, there is a Commentary by Richard M. Roberts and bonus shorts: The Merry Widower, Call of the Cuckoo (excerpts), and Smile, Buttercup, Smile. This 2-disc Blu-ray set runs approximately 300 minutes. That is a huge amount of comedy in one collection.
