The Town without Halloween (2024) Blu-ray Review

Halloween is a fun time of the year. it's a time for kids trick or treating, scary movies,  decorating your house and yard with pumpkins and all kinds of fall decor. My favorite of course is the movies. More than just the Universals Monster movies or the intense horror films, the campy horror is just as fun.

That's why even after all these years I still enjoy shows like Goosebumps. Well, in 2024 director Jacob Ennis' film "The Town without Halloween' was released. Now just in time for Halloween this film is being released on Blu-ray.

Synopsis: In a town immersed in Halloween traditions, a group of teens stumbles upon the Mayor's scheme to abolish the beloved holiday. With dark powers at stake, they must save their community and Halloween itself in The Town Without Halloween.

The Town without Halloween strives to be a new family horror classic, something on the line of Gremlins. But let's be honest that is a huge dream to try to make come true. The screenplay was written by director Jacob Ennis and Gregory W. Brock. The idea is good, but the execution, not so much!

This is a very low budget comedy horror film. To be totally honest the acting and the special effect are not so great. Where this film shines is that it embraces the campiness! Everyone knows they are not making a classic like Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street, so they just go in to have fun! And if you go into this film with that mindset, you will have fun too!

The Town Without Halloween has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The audio soundtrack is a LPCM stereo track. The transfer is a very good one. The film looks really nice on Blu-ray. The colors are bright and vibrant. The neon greens, purples and red really pop. The picture is crisp, and the audio is clear. There are no digital artifacts found.

This Blu-ray disc features the film in HD and bonus of the film's trailer. But that is all that is included. Also, this is a made-on-demand Blu-ray disc, not a pressed Blu-ray disc. I understand that as there may not be a huge demand for this film.

The Town without Halloween will not be a film that adults are going to go ape for, but young teens who like Goosebumps may get a kick out of this release. Or if you want a campy adventure to laugh at during a Halloween party, The Town without Halloween might be one you want to add to your watch list.

If you would like to add this campy horror comedy adventure to your collection! You can do so by heading over to MovieZyng and order your copy today! Just don't expect too much and you will have a good time enjoy the camp!

Out of 4 film reels (4 being the best) The Town without Halloween Blu-ray receives.....
