Torso (1973) Arrow Video 4K UltraHD Review

The term 'Giallo' means yellow. But Giallo is a type of Italian film genre as well. A Giallo is a film that contains slasher, thriller, psychological horror or even supernatural horror element. Some of the most popular Giallo filmmakers include, Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci and Sergio Martino.

In 1973 Sergio Martino brought the world Torso. It is hard to believe that this horror film is over a half a century old. Now Arrow Video have restored and released this cult classic Giallo on 4K UltraHD.

Synopsis
: A sex maniac is prowling the streets of Perugia, targeting the picturesque university town's female students. Alarmed at the plummeting life expectancy of the student body, Jane (Suzy Kendall, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage) and her three friends elope to a secluded country villa - only to discover that, far from having left the terror behind, they've brought it with them!

When you watch this film, you can clearly see that many of your favorite films like Halloween and Friday the 13th were influenced by this this film. The clear style of this Italian horror film has been copied.

Giallos are known for the exploitation properties and their violent scenes and Torso is full on gialllo here. The number of sexual scenes and violent acts could be off putting to certain movie viewer. So, viewer discretion is advised.

Arrow Video has transferred this Giallo to 4K in

Finally there is the option for English subtitles for the Italian soundtrack and English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing for the English soundtrack.
