The Golden Lotus features no Kung-Fu, no swordsmen, no battling for honor, none of the stuff we come to love with Shaw Cinema. The film is based on the 1610 novel of the same name by Lanling Xiaoxiaosheng. This film is sexploitation plain and simple. Now while I am not of fan of this type of cinema. But I know there are people who enjoy it. So my feeling is to each there own!
88 Films have transferred "The Golden Lotus" to Blu-ray in High Definition (1080p). The film is presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio taken from the original camera negative. The audio is the original Mandarin audio 2.0 with newly translated English subtitles.
