The Fox streaming service Tubi is one of the biggest, best and most popular FAST (Free Ad Supported) Channels on the market. They have thousands of movies from every genre and Hundred of TV shows from the classics to DC's TV Universe.
The report is that Tubi is looking to invest in a wrestling organization. It seems Tubi would be more interested in helping develop a wrestling promotion than just acquire the right to an existing promotion.
This isn't the first time Tubi tried to get into the wrestling business. In 2021 Tubi tried to bring MLW (Major League Wrestling) to their platform, but the deal was never finalized. MLW alleged that Tubi executives were influenced by the then WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon to try to prevent MLW from debuting on Tuesday nights. A night is allocated for WWE NXT. Because of this MLW filed a lawsuit against WWE. Now this case was resolved with a settlement.
It is going to be interesting what TUBI wants to do here as WWE is locked up, AEW is trying to lock-up their programming with Warner Bros/Discovery, TNA Wrestling is on AXS TV and has partnered with WWE/NXT, NWA Wrestling is on CW, MLW airs on Triller.
So what are your thoughts on this possible new promotion? Is the market oversaturated? Would you be willing to watch another new wrestling program? Let us know in the comments! And thanks for visiting the Classic Cinema+ Wrestling News Hub!
