The Inspector Wears Skirts 3 (1990) Blu-ray Review

Sibelle Hu started her career as the early 1980s. She jumped on the fast track to become an action star, starring in The Inspector Wears Skirts and The Inspector Wears Skirts 2. Both of these films have been released on deluxe edition Blu-ray from 88 Films.

Well you just knew it wasn't going to stop there. So 88 Film have now giving part 3 it's chance to shine on Blu-ray. Yes 1990s "Raid on Royal Casino Marine" AKA The Inspector Wears Skirts 3.

Synopsis: Inspector Kan (Shui-Fan Fung), now married to Madame Wu (Sibelle Hu), has been instructed to train the Banshee Squad Members after Madame Wu goes into semi-retirement. For their next mission, the Squad was assigned to go undercover into a Casino Ship to nab a group of thieves responsible for stolen law enforcement and military weapons.

Where The Inspector Wears Skirts 1 & 2 were filled with great action. The third film had a smaller budget so it had to pull back on the action sequences. So while there were some nice action scenes The Inspector Wears Skirts 3 pushes more the comedy element. 

The lack of major action and drama in my humble opinion causes the film to suffer. Also the story seems to wander a bit aimlessly. For people that love slapstick crazy comedy, they may get a kick out of this film. But just don't expect what you saw in the first two films. 

Inspector Wears Skirts 3 has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in 1.85:1 Aspect Ratio. The audio is a 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio Cantonese Soundtrack with newly translated English Subtitles. 

Now this transfer is not just any transfer this transfer is from a brand new 2K Restoration From a 4K Scan of the Original Camera Negatives. The picture quality is pretty sharp. The colors are vibrant and the skin tones are perfect. The audio is clean. There is no signs of damage that I noticed and no digital artifacts were found.

The Blu-ray releases of The Inspector Wears Skirts 1 and 2 had really cool interviews along with the audio commentary and trailers. On this disc we are missing interviews. That would have been nice. But we do get a deleted scene.
