A year after the first film was released Jackie Chan produced a sequel to The Inspector Wears Skirts. Sibelle Hu returned as Madame Wu in 1989's The Inspector wears Skirts 2. Now 88 Film have given this sequel a physical media release that will go perfectly alongside the first release.
Hong Kong's toughest team of fearless lady cops are back on the beat! These female furies are forced to take on both their male counterparts in a battle of the sexes and a team of foreign mercenaries. Action legend Jackie Chan's lethal ladies include Shaw Brothers icon Wai Yin-hung ('My Young Auntie'), Sibelle Hu ('Fong Sai Yuk') and the bodacious Amy Yip ('Robotrix'). The film's stunning action scenes are again delivered by the Jackie Chan stunt team, who also co-star in the film. 'The Inspector Wears Skirts 2' lays down its own brand of law with a madcap action comedy blend of the mirthful and the martial!
The Inspector Wears Skirts 2 is a nice little sequel, though the story feels a lot like a rehashing of the first film at times. Sibelle Hu is still great as the lead. The action is a bit light but until the end when it ratchet up pretty good!
The film has been transferred to Blu-ray in High Definition (1080p) and is presented in 1.85:1 Aspect Ratio. There are two audio options. A 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio Cantonese Soundtrack with newly translated English Subtitles and the 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio English Dub Soundtrack.
This Blu-ray transfer is not just any kind of transfer it features a brand new 2K Restoration from the Original Camera Negatives. The Inspector Wears Skirts 2 looks really nice. The picture is crisp and clean the colors are vibrant and the flesh tones are great. The audio is really clear. I love these bad English dubs. For me they make these releases so much better!
Now 88 Films could have made just a new 2K restoration the feature and that would have been cool. But no. They put a lot of cool bonus features on this physical media release. Take a look at what is included on this Blu-ray!

Frank Djeng brings his expertise and a whole lot of information to the audio commentary; it is defiantly worth a listen! Bonus interviews are so cool! For me I love different kinds of artwork and the artwork found in this set is amazing! To have a 2 sided mini-poster and reversible Blu-ray artwork, makes this release so much better!
