Scream Queen (1998-2002) Visual Vengeance Blu-ray Review

Linnea Quigley in Scream Queen Blu-ray from Visual Vengeance
Linnea Quigley is a B-Movie actress that is affectionately referred to as the "Scream Queen" all because of her work in low budget horror films. She started her career in Charles Band's 1978's Fairy Tales. She would go on to star in such cult classics as 1984's Silent Night, Deadly Night. But is probably best known for her roles in The Return of the Living Dead and Night of the Demons.

In 1998 director Brad Sykes started filming an indy horror film starring Linnea Quigley. The interesting thing is this film took 4 years to finish, in 2002 Scream Queen was completed. Now for the 25th anniversary Visual Vengeance is giving this film a deluxe Blu-ray release horror film fans are going to love.

Horror star Malicia Tombs (Linnea Quigley) mysteriously dies after leaving the set of her latest, now unfinished, low budget Shot-on-video shocker. Soon, an unseen masked killer is chopping and hacking his/ her way through the cast and crew as punishment for Tomb's death - leaving a bloody trail of revenge.

Now let's be honest this is a low budget horror film, so you have to realize the effect are a bit cheesy. But when watching this film you can see how much this film is inspired by the classic Italian giallo films.

It is amazing to think that this film was thought to be lost for over 20 years. But now for the silver anniversary of the original shooting year the film has been found and transferred to Blu-ray.

Scream Queen has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in its original 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The new transfer features a n
ew director-approved 480p SD master presented on Blu-ray from original tape elements. The audio is a Stereo 2.0 and there is English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Okay so let's be honest, as I said earlier, this is a low budget horror film. It was not shot in HD, but Vusual Vengeance's new SD master looks pretty nice. But this is not pristine quality. Even though this film was finished in 2002, you can tell it is low budget. But even though it is low budget and you can tell it, it still is a very good looking print.

Now in addition to a new Blu-ray transfer, Visual Vengeance added some very cool bonus features to this Blu-ray. Take a look at what is included.
