In the 1950s there were many sci-fi B movies that dealt radiation creating killer creatures. Most notably;  Them! (1954), Tarantula (1955) and The Deadly Mantis (1957). These film always used some of the coolest technics to creature the terror.

Well in 1957 there was one such creature feature film entitled Monster from Green Hell! Now the great folks at The Film Detective have given this B Movie classic a deluxe Blu-ray release classic sci-fi film fans have been waiting for.

Scientists are trying to understand the effects of radiation on Earth creatures. An American Dr. Brady (Jim Davis) is on a scientific expedition in Africa. The exposition takes them to an area known as "Green Hell". The doctor and the group soon realize the locals don't call it that for nothing. They find themselves up against giant radiation wasp monsters. Will the group survive the Monster from Green Hell? You'll have to see the film to find out.

Monster from Green Hell is a very fun little creature feature. It is presented in glorious Black and white right up to the end when the film changes to color. Jim Davis is great in this film as he is in everything he does. Most will remember him from his final TV role as the John Ross Ewing in Dallas. But in this film he is joined by additional film stars Barbara Turner (Cujo), Robert E. Griffen (TV's Perry Mason) Vladimir Sokoloff (The Life of Emile Zola) and Joel Fluellen (Raisin in the Sun).

The Film Detective is Blu-ray release includes a new 4K transfer. The film is presented in 1080p and has both the full screen (1.33:1) and widescreen (1.85:1) editions of the film. The audio is a DTS-HD master audio. This new transfer is simply amazing. The new 4K scan brings new life to this B Movie classic.
