We all know the term "spaghetti westerns" was used for western film made in Italy. But you may not know the term "poliziotteschi" this is used for crime and action films made in Italy in the late 1960s through the 1970s.
Arrow Video knows film fans love their films. No matter if they are American made or foreign products. So they have collected five poliziotteschi films and put them on one Blu-ray set entitled Years of Lead. Let's take a look at what is included.

Disc One:
Savage Three (1975) Three friends, work together by day & play at night. But after years of being good citizens the trio makes a sharp turn into violent criminals. ***
Like Rabid Dogs (1976) Tony is part of an upper class Roman family; but he lives a double life. One side is a good student, the other a violent killer. ***
Disc Two:
Colt 38 Special Squad (1976) A police commissioner forms a secret force to catch a terrorist who is planting bombs all over the city. ***
Highway Racer (1977) A hot-shot policeman goes against the teaching of his mentor doing things his way. ***
Disc Three:
No, the Case is Happily Resolved (1973) A young man witnesses the killing of a prostitute, but does not report it. The killer saw him and takes advantage of it by accusing him of the killing. ***
Arrow Video did a great job putting together a collection of films that will introduce viewers to the poliziotteschi genre. There is a ton of action, car chases, gun play, violence adult language and nudity. So this is not for the kids or sensitive movie fans.
The aspect ratio is 1.85:1 anamorphic for No, The Case Is Happily Resolved, Savage Three and Highway Racers. Which the aspect ratio on Colt 38 Special Squad and Like Rabid Dogs is 2.35:1 anamorphic. The audio is DTS-HD MA mono in Italian. There are English dub tracks for Highway Racer and Colt 38 Special Squad. It is a shame it's not on all five. I am a sucker for those bad English dubs. But don't worry all the movies are subtitled in English.
Every one of these films have been lovingly restored from the original camera negatives, including a brand new 2K restoration of Colt 38 Special Squad. These films look and sound amazing, with just the perfect amount of film grain. 70s action film fans are going to fall in love with this collection.
