Arrow Video Blu-ray Review: Jesus shows you the way to the Highway

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

Arrow Video known for bringing fans a wide array of titles including the cult films that fans love to collect. So now getting the Arrow Video deluxe Blu-ray treatment is 2019's off the wall film, Jesus shows you the way to the highway.

The films takes place in a dystopian future and follows CIA Agents Palmer and Gagano
are given the assignment of entering the agency's operating system Psychobook to find and destroy a Russian computer virus that is taking over. The task isn't as simple as it seems, because in addition to the virus there's a substance, which causes all sorts of hallucinations in its users.

This film is part science fiction part romance, another part comedy, part thriller, and even more part super-psychedelic trip. The film comes in at 82 minutes, but you would hardly believe it is that as this movie moves incredibly fast.

This film is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. It is off the wall, It's absurd. There is everything from Stalin, video game action, fly like creatures, a generic Batman and a hippie Jesus.

I will be honest. I don't know how this film could even be thought of as a possiblity. Where in the mind could this absurd of a film come from. It really doesn't make a lot of sense. But no doubt someone is going to love that.

It is good to note that this film has a lot of adult language, there is sexual context, including a brief, but strong sex scene. There is alos blood and violence. So this film is for adults only.

The writing is a bit clunky and the acting is not the most spectacular, but this is what B-movie fans want to see so bad so this will be right up their alley. But for sci-fi purist this is going to be an abomination to them.

The film has been transferred in High Definition and looks and sounds great. But as we know by now Arrow Video is never happy with a bare bones Blu-ray, so they have loaded this Blu-ray with some good bonus features. Let's take a look at what is included.
