Bridgestone Entertainment produced a film dealing with bigotry and the true love that comes when someone is willing to look beyond the color of one's skin.
Now the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment has decided to give this dramatic, heart tugging, inspirational film a DVD and digital release it deserves so that more people can discover this great little film.
Wild Faith follows a Civil War veteran named Emmitt who returns home and hopes to find peace. But he must fulfill a promise to a dying black soldier and bring his wife Haddie and daughter to live with him. The townsfolk aren’t ready for this modern family and a plot to remove them from their town. Facing bigotry and greatly outnumbered, they struggle to find faith as they world around them changes.
Wild Faith won Best Faith Feature Film at the Burbank International Film Festival. I found the film an inspirational, exciting and dramatic experience. The film is shot in a gritty and raw way which gave it a realistic feel to it.
I have to Shane Hagedorn does a remarkable job as Emmitt. He shows strength yet vulnerability. Lauren LaStrada as Haddie shows her acting range, giving us a litany of emotions in this film. Everyone in this cast is pretty good. Also listen for the iconic voice of Trace Adkins as The Storyteller. The story while a bit slow in parts still is very good.
As for this film's transfer to DVD. The film is presented in widescreen format and in 5.1 Surround Sound. It looks and sounds crystal clear. On this DVD there is English subtitles for the hearing impaired, but that it all. There is no bonus features. That is a bit of a downer.
