Now for the first time ever, all seven seasons of the award winning series Rescue Me is on Blu-ray from the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment. Let's take a look at this amazing Blu-ray box set!
Rescue me the series follows New York firefighter Tommy Gavin. Tommy has a lot of problems. He talks with his cousin, Jimmy. Ok on the surface that sounds fine, the only problem is Jimmy, also a firefighter, died at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Not only that, but Tommy sees ghosts of other victims, too. Take also into the fact that Tommy is temperamental and an alcoholic, you have a recipe for self-destruction that cost him his family. The series stars Dennis Leary who also co-created the series. It is a real, unflinching look at the lives and the sacrifices the brave men and women firefighter.
The stories are intense, engaging and take you right on the frontline of the drama on the job and at home. Dennis Leary does a great job holding down this series and the supporting cast is good as well!
It is good to note that Rescue Mel is a very adult series! This is by no means in any way for the
teens and children. It aired on FX network, for this show it's a good thing it did cause the stuff that went on in this series would not fly on network TV! There is a lot of adult language, sexual content,

The series is presented in 1.78:1 widescreen format. The audio is DTS-HD 5.1 Surround sound. There is also English subtitles for the hearing impaired. In addition to all these episode you also get a boatload of bonus features, including; Commentaries, deleted scenes, gag reels, behind the scenes featurettes, a location tour, Firehouse: real stories from America's Bravest and more.
You might think that squeezing so many episodes and bonus features on a Blu-ray disc that the audio and video quality would suffer greatly, but in my humble opinion the episodes look and sound amazingly on the big screen HD TV!
Now for the packaging! Mill Creek Entertainment has really impressed with the work that was put into this compete series set. There is 2 Blu-ray cases hold 8 Blu-ray discs in each. Each disc has it's own tray which is nice, no stacking here. There is different art work for each case. Than there is the special Cardboard sleeve which the 2 cases slip into which has its own unique artwork as well. The art work has a foil-like sheen to it. Than there is a clear outer slip that holds the Blu-rays into the inner slip case. This is A1 packaging here! So if your a fan Dennis Leary or human emotional TV dramas and you don't mind the adult content! This is one amazing collection! You can pick it up on Blu-ray now!
