Future Cop: The complete series (1976-78) {DVD Review}

Sci-fi fans love Robocop! Whether it's the 1987 classic movie or the 2014 reboot, one thing is clear we love Robocop! Well, a decade before Robocop there was a series called Future Cop that paved the way for those movies. Now for the first time ever thanks to the great folks at Mill Creek Entertainment. We can own this series on DVD.

The series started off with a movie of the week that followed two street-smart cops (Ernest Borgnine and John Amos) who are assigned a new rookie partner. The only problem is Officer Haven (Michael Shannon) has a secret. He looks human, talks and acts human, but he's not. He's an android with super intelligence and strength.

After the response to the movie, ABC order Future cop into series. Sadly the ratings weren't what they hoped for and cancelled it after just a short 6 episodes. In my opinion this was a huge mistake. This show with these three actors were a perfect mix of action and comedy.

This two disc DVD set includes the pilot movie and all six episodes. But the huge bonus feature that makes this the complete series is the NBC pilot movie entitled Cops and Robin which was an attempt to revive the series, which sadly didn't work.

The series has been digitally remastered and looks better than ever on DVD.
The episodes in this collection look and sound great! Each disc holds an hour and a half movie and three 50 minute episodes. That is not bad for the bit rate of the video and audio.
So if your a fan of Robocop or cop shows this is an absolute must add to your collection. Head over to www.MillCreekEnt.com or your local video provider and pick this one up today!
