Reviewed by: Jason S. LockardThe great folks at Mill Creek Entertainment released the mini-series event Dinotopia on DVD on the Jurassic Adventure collection. Now they continue the Jurassic adventures with Dinotopia the complete series now on DVD.
The series continues the adventures of a 21st-century family suddenly finds themselves stranded on a lost island inhabited with dinosaurs, but is on the brink of disaster. The TV series had to endure change of cast members. This could be considered a bad thing although I think this cast has a better chemistry together than the cast of the mini-series.
Sadly ABC made a mistake in my opinion in putting this new series in direct opposition of some of the hottest shows on TV, of course ratings won't be great. So only 6 episodes were aired and they cancelled the series the rest were never aired in America.
The acting is good, the special effects are OK, nothing mind blowing! The stories are kind of typical predictable fare. Now this 3 disc DVD includes all 13 episodes (7 not originally aired) in this short lived series. The audio and video quality is really awesome and the DVD menus are easy to access.
