Get Mean (1975) {Blue Underground Blu-ray Review}

Blue Underground Bluray release of Get Mean
Spaghetti westerns were all the rage in the 1960s and 70s. Some have even become iconic like, Django and the Good the Bad and the Ugly. Well, like the man with no name series, there was a trilogy of a man known simply as The Stanger. In 1975 the final Stranger film a Italian-American Spaghetti Western comedy Get Mean debuted.

The film starred Tony Anthony he also wrote the story that became this films. Now while g e film is known as Get Mean it was also known under other titles such as Beat a Dead Horse, Vengeance of the Barbarians and The Stranger Gets Mean. Now the good folks at Blue Underground are giving this film a Blu-rays release.

An American cowboy is escorting a princess back to her home in Spain. But while on the way he is
 hurled through time and space encountering barbarians, Moors, evil spirits, a raging bull, and a maniacal Shakespeare-quoting hunchback.

Get Mean is an oddity to say the least. This film is a genre mash-up. A western time travel movie! Now that is an oddity. Name a lot of those! The most famous one would probably be Back to the Future III. As a fan of science fiction I must say that this films is entertaining, but it can be a bit of a chore to watch as the story can be hard to follow.

Along with Tony Anthony (Comin'; At Ya!) the film';s cast features Lloyd Battista (Blindman), Raf Baldassarre (The Great Silence), Diana Lorys (The Awful Dr. Orfol), and Mirta Miller (Eyeball) star in this explosive 'Spaghetti Western' directed by Ferdinando Baldi (Texas, Adios).

Get Mean has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p in widescreen 2.35:1 with the audio track is a 1.0 DTS-HD English track. There is also subtitles in English, French and Spanish. This transfer looks and sounds stunning. The picture is sharp and the audio is clear.
