Warner Archive Collection hv restored and released this film on 4K/Blu-ray combo pack release.
Synopsis: Jeff Bailey, is a one-time private investigator walking the straight and narrow of small-town life...until an acquaintance from his past pulls him back into the troubles he'd left behind. "Build my gallows high, baby," Bailey sneers as events stack up against him.
Director Jacques Tourneur crafts a dark and brooding world for Robert Mitchum to play in. The script has wonderful dialogue and simply stellar acting by Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Kirk Douglas, and Rhonda Fleming. This is a horribly underrated film noir.
Warner Archive Collection has transferred this film to 4k in 2160p and Blu-ray in 1080p. The film is presented in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono track. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Warner Archive has restored this film and the result is a simply gorgeous picture like nothing you have seen before. No matter whether you watch the 4k or the Blu-ray the picture is stellar. But a gorgeous restoration is not all that is included here. Warner Archive added some wonderful bonus features to this combo set.

I have said it before many times when reviewing Warner Archive Blu-rays. I love when they add the old radio programs to these releases. As a huge fan of the old radio shows, these are tremendous listens. Hearing Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas' unmistakable voices in these radio dramas are priceless. Warner Archive is not just rescuing film, but radio as well. Great stuff.
