In 2025 director Adrian Grünberg (Rambo: Last Blood) thrust Milla Jovovich in the role of "Protector" for his new action-packed film. Now this film is receiving a Blu-ray release.
Synopsis: Former war hero Nikki's peaceful life is shattered when her daughter is kidnapped. Thrust into the criminal underworld while hunted by the cops and military, she must fight to rescue her child.
We are used to seeing the strong male protector. Think of Liam Neeson in the "Taken" series. But this is a fresh take on those kinds of films. And shows a strong female character that does not take no for an answer.
Protector has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in widescreen format in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The film transfer is crisp and clean and the audio is clear. There is no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. The colors are correct. Viewers should have no issue with watching this film. But as for bonus features, that is where this disc fails. There is no bonus features at all. There should have been a director's commentary, interviews, something. But there is nothing.
