Almost 25 years after that film made its way to theaters, Amazon Prime brought a limited series reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Now, physical media and slasher fans can rejoice in the fact that this limited series is now on Blu-ray.
Synopsis: In a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers is stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
What makes the movie work is that it is 100 minutes of pulse-pounding terror. Here, Amazon tries to take a story and drag it out. And sadly, that's exactly how it feels. It drags. The series tries to find its legs yet never seems to.
You would think that with more time than the 100 minutes that the movie had. In this series, they would delve deeper into character development. Yet they did not. The slow pacing makes for not the most enjoyable of viewing.
This series has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in the original 2.00:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The transfer of these episodes to Blu-ray is crisp and clean. There are no digital artifacts or audio anomalies. All eight episodes are spread across 3 discs. Resulting in the best quality possible. 3 episodes on the first two discs and 2 on the last disc. So, there is a good amount of space for some bonus features! But sadly, all we get is two TV spots. Disappointing.
While I cannot consider this series a must own. Die-hard fans of slasher series may find this series a must own. That is what makes the world go round. So if you enjoyed this series.
