Not Without Hope (2025) True Life Survival story come to DVD

Films based on true stories are one of my favorite genres. Seeing real life events captured on film and preserved is always a pleasure to experience. Even if the events are not the most inspiring. In 2025 Joe Carnahan (Narc; Smokin' Aces; The A-Team and The Grey) directed one such film entitled "Not Without Hope."

Joe Carnahan's Not Without Hope has received a DVD release. Now, physical media fans add this survival adventure film to their home video library.

Synopsis: Based on a true story, friends  Nick (Zachary Levi), Marquis (Quentin Plair), Corey (Terrence Terrell), and Will (Marshall Cook)’s boat capsizes in the Gulf of Mexico. Battling storms, sharks, and hypothermia, they fight to survive as the Coast Guard mounts a daring rescue to bring them home.

The film is a tense story of survival. Not the typical film from Joe Carnahan, but good nonetheless. Zachary Levi really delivers a performance that is one of his best. The story is a well-adapted one, but the CGI is less than impressive. Sadly, watching the CGI at times can take you out of the realism of the story.

Not Without Hope has been transferred to DVD and is presented in widescreen format. The audio is an English Dolby Digital 2.1 track. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. The film looks and sounds good on DVD. but as for bonus features there is only the film's trailer.

Survival films are always so much fun to watch. Well,
Not Without Hope is a depressing account. But it is a true story and sometimes events in life are depressing. That is just the truth of things. But strong performances help with the bad CGI and the almost unbelievable account.

If you love survivor films or films based on true stories and you would like to add Not Without Hope to your home video library, you can head over to Amazon and order your copy of this DVD today.

Out of 4 film reels (4 being the best) the DVD of Not Without Hope receives.....
